I know that this has been discussed before but I did a search and couldn't find anything. I'm thinking of having my steel MTB frame repainted. Can anyone give me any recommendations for professional painters in the USA? I'm willing to tear the bike down and ship it anywhere in the USA. It's a Strong frame and I could ship it back to him for a repaint but he offers a pretty limited choice of colors. Thanks!

I had a steel road frame re-painted by Spectrum Powder Works in Colorado, [email hidden]. (Do a search on the full name to find the website.) My LBS recommended powder coating rather than paint, saying it was fairly indestructible and did a better job of protecting against rust. Spectrum is great to work with, I stripped the frame down, except for removing the headset races, which they did, and shipped it to them from NJ. They bead blasted off the old finish, powder coated, and cold set the rear triangle (I upgraded from friction shifter 6-speed freewheel etc. to 9-speed STI). I recommend them highly, and on their website you can see examples of their work. I think they will match any color you send them.
