  1. I've been lookign to buy a new tri bike and have investigated a few models. Has anyone ever
    heard/owned a Seven? Thanks

  2. Around here, they're somewhat more common. They do awesome custom work and they quality is just
about second to none. If you are going to work with them be sure to work with a good bike fitter.

That being said, every Seven I've seen around here are road bikes. I don't know of a single Seven
    triathlon bike around here.

All the guys I know that have ordered a Seven have been very pleased with them. Of course, as Ray
has mentioned, for what you pay you should be very pleased ;-)

  3. I have seen a Seven but they are rare in the transition area. I believe that this is true because
seven refers to the cost (seven figures)

Fantastic bikes, fantastic customer service, fantastic price. Definitely top-of-the-line. Another
small high-end company that makes a tri-specific frame is Calfee (www.calfeedesign.com). They make
the Tetra Tri, which is a great carbon frame. 25 year warranty, and it should be a good deal cheaper
than a Seven. They also have fantastic customer service.

  6. The owner of Seven is Rob Vandermark. He was one of the original principals in Merlin. He left
Merlin to form Seven. I own a Custom Merlin Extralight tri frameset that was designed by Tom Kellog
and built by Merlin (while Rob was involved in Merlin). It was built for Jeff Devlin. I bought it
from Jeff about 5 years ago. I have raced 2 ironmans (will do 2 more this year) and many 1/2 ironman
races on this bike. It has a 75 degree seat tube and 700 c wheels. I have been thrilled with the
bike. It is stiff enough yet very comfortable for long distance races. It has excellent handling
characteristics. A titanium frame is very durable and easy to care for. No paint dings to take care
of and no rust worries. I believe that Seven has a custom frame program, so you could get a frame
designed for your riding requirements. The other company to consider if you are interested in
titanium would be Spectrum Cycles. It is owned by Tom Kellog. As mentioned above, he designed for
Merlin when it was an independent company. Merlin, in return, built Tom's ti frames for him. I know
he builds custom frames for individuals. I'm not sure who is welding his ti frames since Merlin was
bought by Lightspeed. Hope this helps. Regards. Gary
