i have a i have a bridgestone 450 i was thinking of changing over to a 9 speed from a 7 speed has any one done this and could you please tell me how to tell if this will work. thank you for the help

The dropouts are 5 mm wider for the 9 speed as they are for 7/8 speed drivetrains, but this is generally small enough of a gap that it poses little problems.

Just out of interest, when were frames with a 130mm spread introduced? And when did they become commonplace on road frames?
