Good point - it displays mostly OK in a non-IE browser with the text size
turned up.

Bad point - the "statistics" did not detect the use of a non-IE browser.
(If you go through the raw logs you'll eventually find that nearly 50% of
page accesses are spider 'bots of one sort or another anyway.)

You may have an abuse vector in the "recommend to a friend" page.

And whoever thought up this list of keywords knows nothing about search
engines -- or is trying to spoof something.....

I had yet another 'I hate Internet Explorer' moment (I have a lot of
those) working on that. Having designed a nice new stylesheet for the
club, I found it didn't work with IE 5 or 6. Couldn't see what was
wrong, but the content area expanded to infinitely wide...

Why? Both the page and the stylesheet validated OK. In the end it turned
out to be specifying percentage lateral padding on paragraphs. Proper
browsers happily rendered the page, IE could not. Fixed now.

Bit like my own home page, I suppose. But as far as _that's_ concerned,
it's _my_ home page, and if people who use buggy software find it hard
to navigate I don't care. Why do people still use that buggy heap of
trash?

create http://planetcycling.org which is aggregating all the feeds I
have found. Since it is less than 10 hours old you can safely say it is
still under construction!

It then provides rss feeds of the aggregation.

They're meant to. That's the point. An HTML browser is not generally
going to render RSS in human-oriented form (although with appropriate
CSS an XML aware browser should); but if you are wanting to pull
headlines from one website into another, then RSS is an extremely
simple way of doing it.

If you look at
<URL:http://www.jasmine.org.uk/dogfood/news/category_2.html> you will
see in the right hand column, under 'Other News', headlines from a
number of other sites. How do they get there? By processing RSS feeds
as the page is generated. At the bottom of the page you'll see a little
'XML/RSS' icon, which links to an RSS version of my page, so that my
headlines can be incorporated by other sites. The line above the icons
at the bottom shows when the page was last regenerated.

Yup I need to investigate that, it does not seem to be on all the feeds.
Thre are also issues with feeds that have unbalanced tags. The
aggregated feeds though seem to work, which is how I'm reading it, via
Thunderbird.
