You can't go wrong with a Weber. I have a Genesis Silver B. I've had it
for 6 years. Sits outside all year uncovered in New York State. Looks
and functions as it did when I bought it. Weber's customer service is
excellent as well.

I don't have personal experience with either of the models you mention,
but it's safe to say that most people who have Weber grills of any
type/model are happy with them. Weber has been around for a long time
and has a reputation for delivering quality products and backing them up
with good customer service, when needed.

type/model are happy with them. Weber has been around for a long time
and has a reputation for delivering quality products and backing them up
with good customer service, when needed.

I've never even heard of the other model, it sounds like something you
would buy from an informertial. I'd stick with the Weber, myself. I'm
happy with mine. It's like new even after 9 years or so.

Weber is an old American company which still has the inventor's relatives
involved with the business. They have excellent products, both from an
engineering and a construction perspective. They are an excellent bet.

There are better (indeed, much better) grills on the market, however. If
you spend a lot more, you can get grills that make a Weber look like a
toy. They will work MUCH better than a regular Weber. Weber even makes a
line of such grills (maybe the Summit series?)

You might even be able to get a similarly-priced grill that is marginally
better than the Weber in some respects. But that's not a bet I would
take, unless I knew all about gas grills and could second-guess the
design and features of each one. Basic quality is an important
consideration with something that is going to stand outside in the
weather, and Weber pays a lot of attention to quality.

Ed Pawlowski should chime in on this thread. He's done a lot of research
on mid-to-upper quality gas grills, and why some designs are better than
others.
