  1. A theoretical question...

    Which will be better absorbed:

    100mg Magnesium Citrate(16% mag) + 200mg Magnesium Taurinate(8% Mag)
    OR
    200mg of Magnesium Citrate(16% mag)

    ??

(Note these two scenarios have equal amounts of elemental Magensium)
(Note I am a clueless nutrition newbie who doesn't understand basic
    digestion)

It's not clear what you mean by theoretical. You really have to go by
experiments in bioavailability or absorption. These have reported that
magnesium citrate is one of the better absorbed forms, better than the

    oxide

for example. Magnesium taurate is relatively new and uncommon; AFAIK,

    no

one has done a bioavailability study. You can check Medline (PubMed)
further if you like (that would probably be better than Goggle for this

    sort

Telling me that you don't know doesn't help me. I'm hoping someone *does*
know and can answer the question. If the word theoretical bothers you,

    free to omit that.

Theoretically, your question as to which is better absorbed is not relevant.
If you are drastically deficient then supplements are not the way to go and
if you are only taking it for supplemental use then any form will do the
    trick.
    Theoretical question:
Which is better absorbed- tablets or gel capsules?
