I looked at these when I was in CA and they're sweet, if somewhat
pricy. The California sales tax was as much as the shipping so I let

Wow, that is horribly, *horribly* expensive for what you get.

You could build pretty close to the same thing yourself for a couple hundred
bucks if you can use a few tools. Just buy a cheap trailer kit from JC
Whitney's ($89) and add the load bars. It might not have the suspension,
but I don't think you don't really need it anyway if you're not going to go
way offroad somewhere.
