Summary: he admitted EPO usage to his sponsor, who said he used it from the beginning of December 2004. He is the first cyclocrosser caught on EPO.
A paper wrote that he tested positive after Essen (round 3 GvA Trophy, Dec 18). The "Flemish Community" who did the test and the Flemish cycling fed cannot confirm or deny anything because the 2nd test isn't in yet.
Berden was quite emotional after last Sunday's Belgian CX championships: "Stress, I am increasingly bothered by stress. If I could I would stop, but I can't because I have to honour my contract and pay my mortgage. I'd rather be in a shack somewhere in Africa."

Well, who can blame him! 38, That's an unfair disadvantage.
"But that's terrible, 41, what are you going to do?' Everyone in cycling knows that you can't win with a count of 41. He looked at me and said, 'Emma, you know what I'm going to do, I'm going to do like all the others."
Berden held a one (1) minute press conference on Wednesday afternoon, to announce that he did indeed take EPO, is sorry he let his sponsors and team mates down (or all CX riders; not clear. Also no word about his fans), and will accept any punishment by the cycling federation. News reader back in the studio: "Now let's have a look at the market figures."

the FUNNY thing is, is that he is the one who is always spouting off about the OTHERS being on drugs. I think he recently was [censored] that the only difference between him and vervecken, nijs, and co was that they were on a better medical program.
forget where i read that. maybe G Proctor in his journals? Hanging in Verveckens trailer at a race. I think that was it. It was very recent.
So I guess he got sick of it and joined in? Thing is Berden is always [censored] about something. huge chip on his shoulder. not unlike someone else i know....
Any pro who claims to be clean is like a man who claims he doesn't jack off. It's highly improbable and even more inplausible, insulting even. And Lance was only on EPO when he was in recovery. Get real guys. This sport is as dirty as the IOC's concious when they try to get some sleep at night and keep replaying flashbacks of seedy pay offs and even seedier meetings in cheap hotels with low-rent hookers. Face it, this sport's ethics are in the [censored] and whoever's on the most dope wins races. If you can't face this fact, than you're not an adult. Every one of the top guys is loaded to the gills with dope of some form or another, it's the nature of the game. Own up to the evils of your sport already. It's all gloss, hype and drugs, not to mention tight fitting shorts.

So now that Hamilton and Perez have been busted, there is a test is in the pipeline for autologus transfusions and many other drugs are now tested for, we can expect more top riders with excellent records to not ride some events or retire?
HA! Laugher-Titty is just another bullshitter who claims he doesn't jack off, but I swear if you put him in front of a coupla Catholic boys, he wouldn't be able to control himself.
