  1. I don't have an authoritative source, but I note that if protected
    from air (oxygen) omega-3 oils keep for years (e.g. in pills).
    I also note that unsaturated oils such as olive keep in a glass jar
    in a frig for at least half a year without detectable flavour
    change; again, in the original sealed bottle, they keep for years.

    So, if you keep your flax seed tightly wrapped in a plastic bag,
    it should have no detectable loss for a lot longer than 2 days in a
    frig.

    That is not how I hear it from fine food "experts".
    Good olive need to be protected from
    the light. It needs to be in either a dark glass bottle
    or better yet a metal can. Moreover, olive oil
    is an exception of sorts as it can contain
    considerable amounts of polyphenol compounds that act
    as preservatives.

    Provided the flax seed is raw, I think you are right.
    But then again, I am not an authoritative source either.
