hi. i've got really bad grips on my bike, and i don't have any bar ends.
a mate said that bar ends are good to have because apart from riding easily uphill, you can't slip your hand sideways off the bars when you turn.
i was just wondering how you fit the bars on. my grips are closed on one end, so do i have to cut them or can you buy special grips. also, do i need to make them shorter or can i have the full length grips, but jsut moved in an inch to make space for the bar ends?
dunno what's going on with yer hands slipping off the bars sideways 😕, but maybe you should look at some new grips or new gloves - I use WTB grips which seem to hold my paws in place.
To fit barends you need to cut off the ends of the grips (if they have them - many don't these days), and move the grips inboard a little to accomodate the barends.
about the hands slipping, say it's raining and you're turning at a high speed, (turning left say), you'll need to keep the bike up with your right hand, and it's hapenned to me , you can just slip, (not the wheels) and then the bike just falls with you on it.
