info on travel cases - opinions are welcome on hard cases vs soft cases
for my bike and what's important to look for when buying one.

I'm a hard case guy, I have one of the original Scicon cases
    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/v2_product_detail.asp?ProdID=5360006995

Its been round the world a few times, back and forth between the UK and
US 30-40 times and although its showing some wear now I've never had a
problem or damage to the bike. If you decided to get a Scicon make sure
you get the mark II model that has re-inforced supports where the
wheels are attached to the case, mine doesn't and the wheels are now
collapsed inwards and unusable. Another change in the Mark II is it has
combination locks rather than a key.

Now, why the Scicon... it will fit in the trunk of many cars. If you
will be travelling a lot by car in Europe then you need to consider
what you'll do with the box... cars here are much smaller in general.
Getting cabs from the airport etc. can be a real problem with a big
    box. Just two penneth worth.
