  1. To the select few (you know who you are).

    Dear fellow cyclist:

    Please lube your chain,

When you hear "on your left", don't veer to your left,

Jerseys have pockets, don't throw your trash on the ground,

Don't suck my wheel to the bottom of every climb,

    Please lube your chain,

Replace your threadbare lycra shorts, I don't need to see that,

Get off your brakes, you're in a pace line,

    Clean your bike,

    True your wheels,

And please, for the love of God, lube your chain.

  2. Why the focus on lubeing one's chain? I'm relatively new to this forum and was just curious.

Haven't you ever heard someone squeaking and creaking and grinding? That sound to me is like fingernails on a chalk board. Not only that, but I'm quite obsessive and neurotic about my own bike maintenance. When dinner is ready, my wife knows where to find me.
