I was passing through a roundabout yesterday. I had a luminous jacket and cats eyes fitted to my bike. I had full right of way and soon as my right was clear, I moved into the roundabout.
Next thing I heard a horn blast and the car behind pushed me out of the way and sped off in front (it would have knocked me off if I hadn't been prepared to react)
I've heard that when Lance Armstrong rode in Austin Texas, he had a reputation for confronting stupid drivers or speeding after them. That's basically what I did. I sped off after the driver and hit the pedals hell for leather, trying to keep up with the vehicle. I got lucky as well since soon as the driver got caught in traffic some minutes later, I pulled up to his window.
As you might imagine, I was pretty mad so I told the driver exactly what I thought of his attitude. There was this crazy woman in the passenger street so they were both yelling back at me that cyclists were dangerous and shouldn't be allowed on the road. My response was that I had the vehicle number and was going to report the whole incident. To be honest, I came close to kicking the guy's ass as well.
Only 3 weeks ago a schoolgirl was run down by a motorist and killed, in an area where I frequently sprint on my bike (the driver sped off and wouldn't stop at the time). The truth is the standard of driving around this area and the general attitude of motorists is worrying, to say the least.
Anyone else having similar problems?

Oh hell yes. 😠 It's not just the drivers where I live. It's the little grade school brats as well. There's no discipline in the home these days. I damned near came to blows with some little brat's dad out in the street cause I told him to tell his little baby boy to shut the F up. If I would have mouthed off to some guy riding his bike around the neighborhood my father would have backhanded me with a quickness. Makes me glad it's winter and I can stay indoors and use the trainer.
Let's face it, people are monkeys without tails.

Well, you know, if it's an honest mistake I don't lose my cool. Drivers get tired or stressed and mistakes happen. But this guy deliberately tried to push me off the road and, to my mind, that's an actual assault. So far I've been jeered on the road, had abuse directed at me and people try to knock me off. Even kids have thrown balls.
I'm sure that had the driver actually hit me (which he didn't succeed in doing) I'd have genuinely kicked his ass into next Christmas. But maybe yesterday I should have flagged down that nearby patrol car and asked the police to test that guy for alcohol. At least it would have held him up for 30 minutes or so.Doctor Morbius said:
