the price of a uni.... about 70$ to ummm alot

By a ride do u mean like 5 meters or 50 meters?

it took me like a week to ride 5 consisntently and about 2 weeks to ride
50 meters

You can get a good beginners Unicycle for around $70 US. Ive been
ridding about a month and i can competently ride for several miles, jump
up small obstacles and drop down about a foot. For some people it will
be a shorter learning period, while it for others it will be much
longer.

A few tips from a recent new rider.
1. Lean forward, i found i wasnt doing it enough and had to tell myself
constantly to lean more forward.
2. Keep your weight on the seat! It makes things much easier and wears
you out a lot lot less.
3. Wear some sort of gloves. I have scars on my palms now because I
would fall forward every once in a while and get cut up by the gravel. A
good pair of biking or leather gloves will save you from the cuts.

uhmm, when you do learn how to ride, you gotta learn how to fall off
too...just step off, i've NEVER fallen on my hands...so i don't think
the gloves are neccicary

Maybe you can. I bought a cheap uni. The pedals, rim and hub all
broke without doing anything more extreme than riding off curbs and
side mounts. The cheap clamp ruined the seatpost. The saddle and
tire were greatly improved by upgrading. The frame is still in use,
but that's about it.

I would not recommend the very cheapest unicycles for an adult who
aspires to do more than simply ride forwards on flat ground. Kids who
don't weigh much can probably get decent life out of a cheapie.

Well im using a Cocker Unistar CX. I weight 210 lbs and ive been doing
1' drops with it. I tossed it in the air (on accident) had some major
crashes, and hop around a lot. So far it seems to be holding up just
fine. The only thing i did was modify the seat cause its not really
suited for an adult size body.

And if he does buy a begginner unicycle why would you expect it to last
to uni/freestyle standards? He'll buy a bunch of them if he gets
addicted anyway😄
