Love the pics, dude. On steep shots I usually try to get above my
subject this way I can catch part of the descent in the shot. It works
much better than a level profile which tends to flatten out the view
loosing the "over the edge" feel.

What camera did you use for these shots? I like the way they came out
especially the warm light from the early morning sun. I use a Nikon
Coolpix 5700 but I am curious as to what camera you use. Awesome shots!

Browsing biking pictures while otherwise stuck in front of a
monitor helps keep me sane... don't stop. 🙂

ride' mode. All of our recent rides have been in the evenings and
well under 29 degrees. From now until late February, we'll be
seeing plenty of 'single digit' rides. It gets easier once it
gets cold enough to freeze things solid.. no more getting wet!

We ride right through the winter. Last Jan. I set a personal
record by doing a 1.5 hour night ride @ -12 degrees (with a
windchill of -45).

I can't wait for the first snow so we can play on the packed
snowmobile trails...

I keep forgetting to look at it, it's an old POS coolpix, about 4 years
old, big as a brick, and sloooow, but it was free, so I can't complain.

I'll try what you said about the steep bits. It is difficult to get a
perspective that translates well to a 2 dimensional image. Things that
scare the pee out of you look line nothing in a picture.

It's the one that weighs more than your camelback :-)

I used to have one. I sold it for a 4500. Both are excellent cameras,
beside the fact that they are completely retarded at focusing in low light.
The 4500 solved a thousand gripes I had with the 990. Consider it if your
990 goes south. It's also the last of the split-body designs.
