  1. Are Campy shifters/derailleurs indexed?

Was looking at a bike today with 9spd campy derailleurs.

I've been reading that with campy you can shift more
than one gear at once. Does that mean there is no
indexing? Is it *way* different from indexed shifting?

They are indexed. just the levers work differently so you can change mor ethe more you swing the levers. its possible to change all the way from biggest cog to smallest if you just hold the thumb-lever down and keep pedalling

No, you still have the 'click' points but you can
click passed multiple gears, unlike, say, shifting up
with Shimano where you can only go up one gear
due to the way the system works.

Is that a limitation or by design? I've been told it's
intentional, and it seems pretty sensible to me.

  4. This may seem like thread jacking, and perhaps it is ...

Anyone with any experience with FSA cranksets and campy veloce, or perhaps centaur? Works ok? Sucks majorly? Why would I do that?

The thumb shifter will allow you to change from lowest to highest gear in
one move (large cog to small cog at the back).
The inner shift lever will allow you to shift down up to 3 cogs in one go
    (small cog to bigger)
All shifts are indexed at the lever, you can do more than one click at a
time depending on how far you push.
