This probably gets asked in one form or another every year, but what does everybody do for training in the off-season? In my DF days I used to ride my mountain bike or hybrid all winter. Even after getting a bent, I still bicycle commuted on my hybrid. Now I live too far from work, about the only way I can bike commute is to park-and-ride a few miles. So I take a swimming fitness class and try to hop on the trainer. What does everyone else do?

So far there are no sofa trainers. That surprises me!
Funny story. At our club's holiday party I heard from two different members that "Joe" had gotten a recumbent. But nobody knew what kind. This surprised me, because "Joe" is a die-hard DF rider, who owns a Pinarello and a Seven. So I questioned is S.O. tonight when I saw her. Turns out he DIDN'T have a recumbent bike, he was referring to his couch. So "riding his recumbent" meant he was watching TV on the sofa, not that he had a new 'bent.

Quite a different problem where I live in Australia, 2 weeks ago I did a 200km Brevet in 40-44c degrees (about 115f)

I have a personal rule that I try to ride every other day or at least every third day. Most of the year, that means cycling 5-6 days out of 7. In the winter, though, I average 2-3 times a week and usually one day on a trainer.
I did extend my 1983 Kreitler rollers this winter to ride with my Aero or Team, but so far, I haven't had much sucess. I seem to be bent/roller challenged, despite having ridden thousands of miles with a DF on rollers. I'll get it eventually. 🙂
