Hi, a friend of mine has an older steel frame that we would like to
know more about. He wants to find out if it is worth building and I'm
just curious. It has been badly spray painted, with the front badge
painted over. Ok, here is what I do know or, the clues are -
-The badge has a raised bike with rider, the rider is formed by a 90
degree angle, head to left side. it has two circles as wheels. Below
that are some raised lines, dividing some sections, that may of had
some writing in them.
-It is lugged and the lugs from the head tube to the top and down
tube, are arrow like. Very simple ">" not decorative.
-I doubt much is stock, but the fork was chromed and I would guess the
brakes are original. They are Shimano Tourney center pull, long reach
calipers.
The bike is built up with a bunch of mismatched odds and ends, but
seems rather light. Most older cheap bikes I have encountered tend to
weigh a min of 25lbs. This one seems to be about 21-22lbs. I'm sure it
was not a high end bike, we are just hoping it was a decent bike.
So, any ideas? Any help will be much appreciated.
