I am back on track and in the 180's again. 189. I hope to be between 185-189 by the end of the year and as we all know, January is a cake walk when it comes to losing weight. Everyone is on a diet it seems and then February there are less and March there are even less and April most people are eating like pigs again. I get a kick out of the gym I belong to. January is always packed and it gets less and less crowded every month after that. It is a hoot.
Yahoo, I just wanted to announce me being back on track. Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season! Curt

Are you eating nutritious food this time or still just LC junk? I remember when you posted your daily menu in response to another post and it was nothing but LC ice cream and other junk.

You must have me mixed up with someone else. I don't eat junk of any kind. I only eat organic and natural foods. I am not sure who you are thinking of.

You're right. It was Cubit who posted a day from FitDay that was nothing but junk, although it was LC. My apologies! :-)

It's not just you - I got Curt and Cubit mixed up as well unless I'm paying 100% attention. OK let's get this straight - Curt is the one who cycles, Cubit is the one who insists on doing no exercise and whose minimal requirement for a prospective girlfriend is that she must be willing to go low carb forever. Am I right? :-P

Yeah, but she said LC junk. Alcohol isn't LC, so I said nothing wrong.
I have not had a drink in two weeks and probably won't have any till Christmas. Must get real thin!

Almost. Cubit did start exercising one he lost a lot of weight - he was afraid that exercise is harmful to really overweight folks. I think you're right about the girlfriend thing, though.

Yup, that was him. Searching for a worthwhile prospective partner looks hard enough without chucking in those sort of requirements too.
Thank you for the updating, Roger. I missed Cubit's posts about his exercise.

Interesting. Why is it that exercise (other than jogging and the like, which has never suited me no matter what size I was) would be harmful to those folk?

Yup, that was him. Searching for a worthwhile prospective partner looks hard enough without chucking in those sort of requirements too.
That might not be too bad of a requirement. Heck, people have all kinds of requirements (must be X tall, have a certain personality, etc.), so I don't consider Cubit's requirement that bad. I knew one guy who said (his words), "I could never marry a woman with small [breasts]." (The latter changed from the real wording.) At least having a "requirement" of something that's important -- like diet -- is better than putting arbitrary requirements on a mate. I used to read personals and be intrigued by one, then find out that she wanted someone four inches taller than me (even though she's 4 inches shorter than me) or wants black haired men.

Since it's just my husband and me in the household, and we both control carbs and usually stick to whole foods, it really simplifies a multitude of situations like:
o Shopping o Entertaining o Keeping fridge and cupboards free of temptations o Restaurant selection o Day to day meal preparation

I don't either; but a partner can always change diet later. It's rather hard to predict or control that.
My best friend from highschool posted a personal on the net, requesting a "tallish, athletic blonde". The woman that he met and married four years ago is a shortish, sluggish (literally-she has thyroid issues) brunette...We laugh it up all the time over that one!
My mother says she wont date a man that has any living relatives, and of course, she has been single and not dating for 20 years....

I think that many people's ideals of what they want and what they would accept often don't meet. Personally, I go more for personality over anything else.

That is true. Personally, I don't care what my partner eats as long as she doesn't care what I eat.

Diet can be far too transient in nature, and IMO therein lies the danger. Cubit is pushing 50 and still unmarried. He's stated the desire to date, but placing that sort of requirement on prospective partners looks an awful lot like putting up barbed wire around the "Welcome" mat. Is the food someone eats important enough to outweigh compatibility in other areas? Or is it a subconscious way to avoid commitment? It could go either way.

Cubit's pushing 50? I thought he was a youngster!
I'd rather be single than be in a bad marriage 🙂
And single ain't so bad when you can find plenty of nice ladies to date!!
But I'd rather be married to a great lady than to be constantly dating lots of different ones, trying to figure out what makes each of them tick.
