clicking noise at 8 oclock

Odds are, it's the bottom bracket. I had the same thing happen on a bike
with a cartridge BB, with the plastic cups, very annoying and maddening
to find.

Once I got rid of my clicking sound by tightening down the cassette lock
ring.

crank and/or BB isn't installed properly. Return it promptly
for rework.

Have the place that you bought it find out what's up. My guess is poorly
installed BB, non prepped BB shell, no grease inside the cups.

If it is a four-arm bolt-on chainring try tightening down the bolts ...
I had to teflon tape all my bolts to get rid of the noise.. (Shimano
hollowtec XT POS)
