  1. I've just found myself a new job and I've decided that I want to build up a fixie. I know I've said this before, but here goes. Has anyone in Melbourne got a small (I'm a shortarse...5'6"😉 road bike that they want to get rid of cheaply? I'm prepared to buy something medium awful as I want to do the silk purse from sow's ear and get some maintenance practice in. The OCR just doesn't have much scope for that, being all new and shiny and suchlike. No cracks, excessive rust (surface is ok) or anything silly like stupidly oval bearing races but otherwise give me your tired, your neglected, your huddled back shed dwellers.

    I'll post pics, I promise.

Beasely Cycles always seem to have one or two smaller track frames for $100-150 which would be a good start

yeah, that'll work but your still gonna be up for bigbucks getting a fixed rear wheel. Unless you go the Singlespped freewheel option and just space out that existing wheel and sort the chainline out

Jeez, listen to me. only started this SS/fixed stuff myself a few months back and now I can waffle along like a Koon or a Hippy 😄
