Did shimano RSX group ever make it to 9 speed? Looking for a set of STI's
for my winter hack and have seen these advertised, but i'm not convinced RSX
ever got past 8 speed.

I'm not sure they even made 8 speed, when I bought my RSX it was 7, RX100
came in 7 or 8, you needed 105 IIRC for 9. Definitely worth going better
than Sora though IMHO. Even Tiagra has a plastic body now.

My '99 road bike is 8 speed RSX. I think RSX disappeared the following
year.
