  4. I took my Bianchi to my local automotive paint store who were able to do a

But they have also changed the exact shade several times in the past (or
maybe it's just duff quality control)...

The paint used on the interior of swimming pools is a close match. 😉

Is that a for a recent/current Nuovo Celeste Bianchi? You
can just buy a small bottle of touchup an any Bianchi dealer
or get Bianchi's exceptional 2-can spray paint kit ( green
base with pearl blue clear topcoat).

If it's older, the color has been greener (80s), greyer
(60s),bluer (70s) over time at various Bianchi factories.

  12. The stuff they sell online at bianchiusa.com is brighter and slightly bluer than what's on my bike, which is from the late 80s. There was a greyish quality to the older Celeste that this doesn't have. Not too far off but noticeable.

The paint they sell is 2-part -- you get both base and clearcoat. The thing is, the current Celeste is clearcoated with a slight bluish tint, so if you have an older Celeste just get some clear clearcoat or just bag the clearcoat step ... i.e., the clearcoat they send you ain't clear. The paint they sell is really high quality though; I bought a new set of forks for my Bianchi MTB and they looked highly uncool in plain black so I sprayed 'em. Went on really smoothly even though I'm a hack painter.

Actually I think the new color is probably better since some of the old Celeste models are about the color of one's expectorate a/k/a lugies when one finds oneself in the clutches of the flu. I mean those really old Bianchis, even though they have tons and tons of mojo, look like [censored] compared to the new ones. The modern logo's a major downer though -- what's widdat?
