  1. While changing the timing chain on my early model Screamer, I found the tensioner had insufficient
    take-up to adjust the new chain. It was either too loose, or way too tight. After a posting here on
    arbr, Rick Steele from [email hidden] answered me off line. It seems the RANS Screamer doesn't
    like smaller timing chainrings. After changing from a 34t to a 44t, the chain fit perfectly and
    adjusted without diffuculty. My guess from previous postings is that others have had the same
    problem. Rick's fix is easy and reletively inexpensive. My thanks to all who weighed-in on the
    issue. This exchange of information is what arbr is all about !
