  1. Wow, I know it been a year since I last read or posted in the low-carb
news groups, but what happened here? Every other Re: thread is "F
this", "F you", "Moron" and of course my favorite "your an idiot"! I
seems to me, this group has lost it's way somewhere down the road. I
thought this was a place to share ideas and get answers to questions on
low-carbing. When I started to low-carb again this was the first place I
thought of for help/answers, but WOW!, you have to eliminate all the
[censored] first before you can actually read the posts. I'm sure I'll get
some flack for even writing about how childish some people are, but it
needs to be said. Don't be rude when you post! if your opinion differs
from someone else "Great" let them know how you feel. That doesn't mean
you need to be ignorant while doing it. I want to hear about new ideas,
recipes, new products, what works and what doesn't. I just don't want to
spend half my time wading through personal sewage.

There are a bunch of infantile egomaniacs in here with nothing better to do
than be smartasses hiding behind fake names and computer screens. There are
also a lot of good, constructively criticising people here too. You will
learn who's posts to read an who's to pass over. I usually end up reading
about 20-30 posts per day out of the 100+ that show up on my reader. as far
as the "personal sewage", many of us are dealing with emotional issues that
affect our weight. we support each other thru that. As someone dealing with
[censored] that I hope you never have to, I occasionally spew some [censored] so you
will have to decide if any of it is relevant to you and skip accordingly.

It's like a bank, Zippy. You get out a bit more than you put in. Thus
far you've put in some [censored] whimpering. Looks like that's pretty
much what you got back. With interest.

If you have something to contribute that improves the tenor of the
place, let me step aside to help you post it. Otherwise, save your

Because there are lots of people who whine, whimper and grouse. Like you.

So far it looks like this: you complain right up front about the
population here and try to mold it to suit you. Rather than post the
kinds of things you'd like to see, you find fault with everyone and
try to chide them into line. Have you *ever* seen that kind of
    silliness work?

    Didn't think so...

I like to lo-carb because "I just feel better". I strayed away temporary
because I moved to Las Vegas and they have great Buffets. I've done the
lo-carb thing for years, even before it came into style. You don't need
to be fat to lo-carb, like they say it's a "way of life". I've lost the
weight I needed to lose long ago, I'm hardly fat.Boy!
You need to grow up a bit. I'm really starting to think you are an adult
(with major life issues). Try exercising more to help relief stress or
seek a support group, cut out the caffine anyway. No one should feel
the only way to get attention is by belittling or battling others. I
could continue to exchange squibs with you, but that would be pointless.
Instead, I'll just filter you out. I'll look forward to not hearing
    you. lol

I dunno about your brand of newsreader, but I can (and did) set mine to
display the newsgroup(s) that each message is posted to as I read it.
It's good info to have. I think you'll find that things posted only to
a.s.d.l-c are typically pretty good. The nasty ones all seem to be
    cross-posted to the following array:

    soc.support.fat-acceptance, alt.support.diet, alt.support.diet.low-carb,
    alt.support.diet.weightwatchers, misc.fitness.weights

Bet you 1,000 free, non-countable carbs in the pizza of your choice that
there are some nasty flamewars going on in one or more of those other
    groups.

weight I needed to lose long ago, I'm hardly fat.Boy!
You need to grow up a bit. I'm really starting to think you are an adult
(with major life issues). Try exercising more to help relief stress or
seek a support group, cut out the caffine anyway. No one should feel the
only way to get attention is by belittling or battling others. I could
continue to exchange squibs with you, but that would be pointless.
Instead, I'll just filter you out. I'll look forward to not hearing you.
    lol

Was I talking to you, fatboy?

lol Fat boy, your a card JC.

I like to lo-carb because "I just feel better". I strayed away temporary
because I moved to Las Vegas and they have great Buffets.

Great buffets = loads of meat dishes = easy low carbing.

you strayed because you were having buffets?????????

    very strange.
