  1. Has anyone one else noticed the spree of rural signs that have been blasted
by shotguns since the hunting with hounds argument started to come an end. I
have now seen two signs that have been needlessly shot in the name of sport.
one a public footpath sign on the Southdown's way above alfriston. and they
other a timber stacks warning sign on a local estate. with that one the word
    warning had been blasted.

what's next, a scene from deliverance being played out on some unsuspecting
    walker or bird watcher!

The redneck theatrical society of Devon have been doing this for some

As far as I can remember roadsigns have always been prone to being
shot up.. Does not surprise me that its increased.

OK its a [censored] law, but its passed. Now watch the yahs throw the toys
out of the pram big time.. Mind if the other conservative party had
come for us, under the guise of landowners rights, I would behave more

What makes you thinks it's in the name or sport?

Bit like saying the english signs in Wales were painted green, in the
    name of art!

A recent scientific survey (ie the 3 people I know who hunt) shows
that 66.67% are 'working class' and 33.33% 'middle class'.
A similar survey shows that vociferous anti-hunters are all either
    middle or upper middle class.

  8. well as a signs an inanimate object and it was probably done for a bit of a
laugh I thought I would make a joke about it. probably one to many, but it
does show that there is some unjustified animosity towards walkers at the
    moment.

The CA had two big themes.. Keeping their sport and denying ours...
The CRoW act wound them up something rotten - but really they should
    consider it a victory.

Something will have to take the place of the fox ... maybe the ramblers!
and if they can't be hunted with hounds, they will just have to be shot!

If you want to see a seriously shot-up sign, walk along the seawall at
Foulness Island (MOD agency firing/explosive testing range)...

Needlessly? That implies there are times when signs need to be shot.
I don't see why, they don't even kill chickens or eat lambs. That's
really unfair, I'm going to write to my local MP and demand he
stops the brutal slaughter of harmless signs. I bet there are
[censored] who chase them down with dogs, too.

I'm all for blasting signs. They are litter. There was one in Bowland
saying 'Do not deface this sign'.

Since my job doesn't fit into any of the categories on the market
research surveys I'm forever getting I assume that I'm classless, or
have no class, whichever way you want to look at it 🙂
