Those aren't tights, and good as they are, they're not all that windproof,
so in near- & sub-zero temperatures you need a pair of tights under them, or
thermal long johns, I suppose. I use a pair of cycling tights I got from
Halfords years ago, when I had set out for a ride in shorts, and decided I
needed warmer knees. I don't carry much money with me, so they would have
been the cheapest they had. They do the job, worn under the bikesters.

I'm nicking my hubbies thermal long johns to weat under my long cycling trousers. I'll probably pinch a thermal vest to wear under my jersey aswell.😄

I think any brand with Roubaix material will be OK fit might differ but
then your body is probably a different shape to mine. I have some by
Ultima which are my current favourites (partly because they are not all
black). I prefer bib tights with footloops for the winter, no zips no
chamois.

I have a pair of Endura Bib tights with clip straps. The tights are
excelent in the cold and rain but I find the strap clips uncomfortable. they
are either too tight and pull on the shoulders or slip off. I think Parrot
do a similar tights without clips and with foot loops which I might try when
these need replacing. I think the material is Thermastat or something like.

I am at this moment wearing my Campagnolo winter bid longs; enormously
comfortable and very cosy. Remarkably large pad, which make them look
rather odd when hanging up, but very comfortable when on. Recommended.

I've got a pair of De Marchi bib longs (in Roubaix Lycra) which I was
given as a Christmas present last year. The seam up the outside of the
right leg has burst - due to the phenomenal development in my calf
muscles over the last year, no doubt, but considering that I didn't wear
them at all over summer, and have only recently taken them out of the
wardrobe for the first time in a good few months.

So while they are very comfortable and very warm, I would say they
weren't particularly hard wearing. /Not/ recommended.

(On the other hand, I notice that De Marchi also make some very
expensive gear, which is probably better quality - these I'm sure were
from the more modest end of the range, price wise.)
