Not all of mine, because you can't and wouldn't fit a saddle on the
recumbent, and it wouldn't really work on the Muni, but the others all
have Brooks 'cause they work for me. B66 on the 8 Freight, Brompton
Brooks on the Brompton and B17 on the MTB.
They don't really suit Roos though, so she has a different flavour on
her hack bike (and the tourer is another recumbent, so not applicable).

Heres my contribution for all those who would belittle!
All cycles owned and used by myself are fitted with Brooks leather saddles.
Mostly B17 standard and B66 Champion although I do have a new Brooks
proffesional still boxed and waiting to be fitted to one of my Bromptons.

I almost do. Admittedly, my Trek has one of their cheaper own-brand
saddles, but the Cougar and the Fort both have Ti-railed,
leather-covered Selle Italia jobs; a Flite Kevlar for the Cougar, and
a Maurizio Titan (essentially a Flite with a slightly different shape
to the moulded plastic shell) on the Fort. Both nice, light saddles.

Up to a point - your body position may be different on different bikes. But

For some reason there is nothing that winds me up more than self righteous Brooks owners banging on about their saddles.

We know you have endured years of torture to get a saddle that is still bloody uncomfortable but now your bum is used to it.

They are also heaby, ugly and cost far too much for something so appalling.

These ancient luddites still long for the days when a Dawes Super Glaxy was the acme of cycling.

Get back to your beards and real ale and leave the rest of us alone.

My wallet is not a bottomless pit. I have found that Brookes saddles fit me
just fine (Beer and real ale notwithstanding) but already have other bikes

So many mix saddles because:-

1. We are all atracted to the bling factor and like the look.

2. To some of us the comfort factor of all our bikes is more or less the same and the saddle is relatively unimportant.

3. The more bikes you have, the less you use each one and hence overall comfort is less of an issue (unless you have something extremely uncomfortable of course)

I have a variety of Seele Italia and fairly comfy cheapo brands.

from day one has been this: comfortable. I don't mind they're being heaby

Even if this was your experience, it might have not been theirs. Many
peole find Dr Martin shoes comfortable; I don't. People who like/wear

I mix saddles because I can, why shouldn't I ? None are troublesome so
why should I standardise ? I have several pairs of shoes, none of which
hurt my feet despite being of different brands and I reckon everyone
here is the same. Same old feet in each pair, why should arses and
saddles be any different ?

This really has been a tedious few days on here.

You retro-fitted a HPVelotech seat to the ICE? Interesting. Have you had
a chance to chuck it around some corners to see what the difference is
wrt holding you in place?

If you ultimately decide that the ICE carbon seat is of no use, I might
be able to make an offer for it. Regardless, I'd be interested to hear
how you get on with the HPVelotech seat.

Actually, if it made sense to always use the same saddle it would also
make sense to use the same handlebar arrangement, but in practice it
isn't because riding positions are different, and that will affect the
saddle to some extent too.

Also the case that many ride different saddles on an "it ain't broke, so
why pay to fix it?" principle. Especially on short range hacks this
makes a lot of sense.
