  1. I'm embarrased to say that I don't know what to do with the number
that I am suppose to wear. It has a hole in each corner and a tag at
the bottom, which I am not suppose to detach. How does this attach to
    my shirt? Help. Please.

Use a safety pin through each of the corner
holes to attach the number to your shirt.

Embarrased? You should crawl under a rock for asking such a stupid question. If
you're so dull you can't figure that out for yourself, I'm willing to bet you'd
run it backwards without those arrows to point you.

  4. Dude, four safety pins (NEVER two), one through each hole. Don't worry about the
number being perfectly level, it doesn't matter.

And the golden rule is - pin it on your belly. Don't even think of putting that
number anywhere near your chest because if it touches your nipples, you'll be
    screaming. Literally.

The tag is ripped off at the finish line. Now relax and enjoy the race.

Use a safety pin through each of the corner
holes to attach the number to your shirt.

and be sure not to pin the bottom portion (the "do not detach" section)
to you. Lady in front of me at last race did that.

or attach it to a belt.

Or your shorts if there is any chance you might peel off the shirt.

  7. I always pin the top 2 corners to the top of my shorts. There, it's out of
the way and doesn't get in the way of my hands or arms when I run. If you
don't want it onyour short then pin it down low on your shirt. Don't pin
the bottom two corners. you probably think it will bug you for the bottom
to be free but it won't.

Those arrows aren't there to point to where you've been? Where would
    I be without you.

Thanks (to most of you) for the tips.

As someone who spent a lot of time this year ripping tags at the finish line
can I please say that if you do pin your number to your shorts or near them,
please either stop in the finish chute or get the tear started as you enter
the chute. Had a few too many near misses that could hav been rather
    embarassing thankyouverymuch. 🙂

  10. SPLAT!!! There goes the coffee. The visual that came up was
    just too funny!

  11. One of the guys in the last race I worked at was wearing very loose nylon
shorts and no shirt. He came charging through the chute and my counterpart
(I had my hands full) nearly took the guy's shorts right off.

I suggested a longer chute for next year...

    Wishful thinking?
