Some really nice pics Sandy, like the Brooding October Evening.
(hope you don't mind me saying, but your Small Torty is a Red Admiral)
Interesting closeup of the Dragon Fly's eyes, Were you using an
    ordinary lense/camera set up? I'd don't have lenses/multiple/macro for
the use of and have tried a few times to get pics like yours.... never
    works ;-)

I thought it was but when I read about the Red Admiral it said it was most
common in the south and as I keep getting the two mixed up I went for the
    Small Torty 🙂

It was a Fuji S7000 on Macro, then in Photoshop Elements I zoomed in,
flipped it and cropped it to show just the head.

Some nice photos Sandy. Can never seem to find the right place, or the
light conditions to get the best of Autumn. Still, its nice to see other
    peoples efforts.

    Cheers

Fantastic, thanks! I've saved it not only to my wildlife folder, but
also to my folder of most elegant website!

It does look a bit odd and I think it is because it is blown up from part of
a bigger picture which makes it look small and dumpy. I watched it for a
while through binoculars and identified it that way. The tree it is in is
attacked round about this time of year by a flock of fieldfare but this is
the only one ATM. They usually strip it of berries within a few days.

BTW if you invert the peacock shot you'd appreciate the "face" its
    marking suggest. - Excellent photos.

The original is that way up but I thought it looked better facing up hill
than down and hadn't taken the markings into consideration.

Thanks Bill, on both counts 🙂

I had heard that the peacock butterfly had markings that looked like the
angry face of a predator and I could never see it when viewed as we
usually do head up. It was only when I saw it "upside down" that the
"face" became obvious. Those two white marks on the wings became
"fangs", the body the "nose" and the wings spots the "eyes" Fantastic..
