  1. My beloved RANS Stratus with that comfy low bottom bracket has always
been difficult for me to spin and I definitely feel the dead spot so I
    replaced my Ultegra 26 42 52 165mm with the Rotor 30 42 53 172.5mm.
Would say the learning curve is nil but I did benefit immediately from
being able to really spin up and spin up smoothly and the dead spot
was no where to be found. Now, I'm a rusty ole engine that suffers
from smoking, leaking-rusty pipes and low compression but I can see
where the right engine could really benefit from these babies as we
all know spinning is the key to speed and climbing ability and if
nothing else the Rotor's give you a smooth spin so all you need to do
is up the rpm. As for the other claimed benefits…to early to tell but
I'll give you an update after I have a few more miles on these
    puppies. Price...yes to high. Kelly

  2. Did you have to do any special maintenance on them? Going by the website it
appears some is needed on occasion

Mark the only thing I saw in the literature was to put a drop of oil
on the o-rings from time to time and check to see that the settings
    had not changed. Kelly

I haven't after 4000 miles had to do any maintenance on them yet. This winter I will strip them down though and check for any wear and re-lube them for next season.
