Thanks for all the responses to my "trousers" thread. I risked 20 quid on a couple of pairs of RH Tracksters (on the 19.99 for two pairs offer at wheelbase.co.uk).
It's a bit of a shock to see oneself in the mirror, wearing them for the first time - but they sure are comfortable for cycling. Went for a 30km blast around the lanes at lunchtime (cool but not cold, about 9'c) and was very surprised how toasty warm my legs were.

Did you get Tracksters or Bikesters? There's an important difference as far as cycling goes..
Cheers, helen s

Tracksters are really, really good for cycling, Bikesters are a bit better.

Tracksters are in fact ok for cycling. Bikesters are merely a little bit better.

Tracksters are okay, but they don't have the same higher back than front, to help ensure a non-chilled back when cycling. I notice the difference *a lot*

I wonder if it's a body shape thing - I never really noticed a difference, and I think we're fairly different shapes (well, judging by your posts anyway!)

Tracksters, as they were the ones on offer - and at this stage it was something of an experiment - if it works out, I can always "upgrade" to Bikesters later on.
As the owner of a Huge [censored](tm) I'll probably appreciate the high back - I did notice the Tracksters were becoming more Hipsters as the ride wore on - but I didn't have to stop and hitch em up, so not too bad.

I use braces to hold mine up. I also use braces to hold up my waist shorts.
