I don't know of any stockists for Hilleberg parts but you could try
emailing the company directly; [email hidden] is the address
given on their website. They also have a list of stockists but it
doesn't say whether they sell only whole tents. (Sorry if you have
already looked at the website).

What's up with the guyline? Have you damaged the black
runner/tensioner? If not, won't any old guyline do?

And I know that the Akto pegs are not your standard skewer pegs, but
I'm sure you can improvise ...... or is authenticity too important to
you?!

Any decent outdoorshop (not the fashion-outdoorshops) sells all kinds of
tentpegs and some guylines.

It almost snapped (mega fray), so I had to cut it in two and tie the
ends together. It may well be that any guyline will do.

Mine's the old Akto and comes with metal rather than black (I'm
assuming they're some sort of rubber?) tensioners. Maybe that's why
the guyline frayed?

Any nice light, sturdy one would do really, but I've read from time to
time that some designs are more effective than others, so I suppose
I'm just wondering what people might recommend.

Sorry to hear about this, Peewiglet. When the (large) stuffsack
for my Akto went AWOL in strong winds in Great Cove, I contacted the
people I'd bought the tent from (Knoydart, who normally do kayaking kit),
and they sold me another; I had to wait a few days for it to arrive from
the manufacturer. I'd imagine that any of the Akto dealers would offer
the same service.

They sell guy ropes that are braided with a silvery reflective thread and so
are easy to see after dark. If you're anything like me you'll have tripped

Alpenstock in Stockport stock Hilleberg tents. They are very friendly
and helpful so I expect that if they can't supply the items they will be
able to tell you where to get them.

MoonTrail in the US sells them - that's where I got my spares. I've
bought lots from them and they've always been very good.

Its useful to know the taut-line hitch in case you need to fashion a
guyline and don't have a tensioner:

Many thanks, Dominic 🙂 I rang them this afternoon, and they can
order the Akto bits. They do have other stuff in stock, though, and I
think I'll probably just stick with that for now.

They've got the little black plastic Akto guyline tensioners, though,
and I think I may get some of those. I'm assuming there must have been
a good reason why Akto swapped!
