Excellent circular walk today based on Kettlewell - hills well covered
in snow above about 1000ft, good going underfoot with bogs effectively
neutralised by frost.
I found the walk on Walking Britain website - the 3rd of the Yorkshire
walks I have used and they have all been excellent. Great Whernside
walk is at

Was my first encounter with the Wharfedale Whernside, and while it has
a very flat, plateau-like summit, the views as the walk unfolds are
varied and extensive. Snow of course adds another dimension to such
hills. Pendle Hill, Pen y Ghent, Ingleborough, Whernside of the 3
peaks, and some of the Lakeland fells were all visible. (Probably the
Scafells)
The late autumn light was superb, with high cloud giving some good
skyscapes, and if anything the sky becoming clearer during the day,
which was unexpected.
In all, a good fell day - pictures to follow when I get round to
uploading them onto the web.
