Deda Neos -- decent quality basic stem. Not easy to find, though.
Available in 12 and 13cm from R***le Cycles, but I don't recommend anyone
buys anything from them ever.Or Deda Murex: stylish & lightweight, though not super-stiff. Hard to
find, again.Or an ahead stem with a quill converter. This option provides the
greatest choice of lengths , angles and syles, and the converters work
very well. Combined weight is similar to an average quill stem. Looks a
bit odd but you get used to it. (No spacers required under the stem). 3T
The stem is a good one to consider first.~PB

the rebuild. Looks very nice.....d

The Kalloy Uno is a good entry-level front-loading quill. Price 12-15
quid or so, and comes in a smart satin silver finish; Henry Burton's
in Stafford (01785-242346) does them, amongst other places. Hope this
helps.David E. Belcher

Thanks all. I ordered (very last) Deda Neos from Ribble (£19.95). Looks
good, and AFAICT doesn't flex like the Murex. -
I've got a Cinelli Frog - looks a bit different, front loading with 3 bolts, not heavy - I'm happy.
