I have a Minoura turbo trainer hooked up to my road bike now that it's dark before I get home.
It's a type that runs against the rim of the bike's wheel, rather than on the tyre.
Recently, the drive wheel (the one that's in contact with the rim) has started slipping whilst I'm using it, so I don't get a "smooth" continual resistance. It feels "lumpy".
Just wondered if anyone's had similar experiences or any thoughts as to how to rectify the situation.

In the absence of any other replies.... is it tensioned right against the rim? if it feels lumpy, maybe your wheel is out of true?

The trouble is that most people use turbos that press against the wheel not the rim (or, to save the pedants, most people that use turbos use..).
The rim ones are notorious for this sort of problem.
I assume there is some sort of rubber cap affair that runs on the rim? If so, is this worn at all?

Not overtly, no.
I can't use it at all now - it's pretty much seized up. The wheel which is against the rim goes round, but it's not moving the steel flywheel (which provides the resistance) at all.
