Today I'm a cager - too much to do and 30 km/h won't cut it.
A few cycle groups IVO uni and I did things like change lane early when I knew their lane was vanishing, leave space for other drivers to change lanes when overtaking, overtaking at an appropriate speed for the group (e.g. large groups it's a bad thing to sit next to them too long). One pair got such a shock that one of them nearly fell off. That's tragic. Courteous driving shouldn't be a rarity.

I don't think drivers quite know _how_ to deal with cyclists. Is there anything in the driving manual that covers it? (been a looooong time since I read it, especially recent additions).
I have a vague memory of reading some words in the Vic highway code warning drivers that cyclists could be travelling much faster than people would normally expect. Something along the lines of "very fast cyclists can reach 30km/h". Wow. Shocking stuff :-)
