One day at a time Lorelei. If you look at it that way then a week goes by
and then two and so on. Just look at today and start. Once you get through
a few days you won't want to break your progress and you will really not
want to eat sweets, because LC will suppress you appetite.Curt

May I suggest giving us your FitDay data for the last week. This should
include average daily carbs, calories, and percentages of
carbs/fat/protein/alcohol.Sometimes the first step to solving a problem is to define in detail exactly
what the problem is...."Lorelei" <[email hidden]> wrote in message

LoriNobody expects you to be entertaining in here. I don't expect you to
be anyway.
The weight is farther down your list of priorities than it was a year
ago. It can't take
top billing right now, so no sense smacking yourself because of that.
Give alcohol a miss,
it's just empty calories anyway and make good food choices as often as
you can. In your
situation you really can't devote the huge amounts of time to staying
thin that you
had available when you were getting thin. I understand your situation
a bit. The whole household revolves around the
medical visits and blood counts. Hang in there as best you can Lori.
If there's a support
group through the hospital please consider it. It isn't much, but you
and your family do have my best wishes.Take care of yourself,

Well Carmen, the fact is you are [censored] at me for my opposition to JC's
abusive approach to dieters. What happened to your Nazi approach to
dieting? Suddenly, you are supposed to be Miss sensitive, saying it is OK
to gain weight during unusual stress periods? You don't want her to even
try to hold even? Everyone should forget the "eat less an exercise more"
[censored] that you repeat?I was not keeping track of her personal life, but should we ignore her
insistence that weight gain must "stop?"There are some interesting and brilliant people that post here. I like the
opportunity to be candid and direct with people. Maybe that isn't
acceptable in Tennessee."Carmen" <[email hidden]> wrote in message

Hi, Lori,
I'm so sorry I didn't read about Curt being ill. My prayers are with you
and your family. Don't be so hard on yourself........take it one meal at a
time and do the best you can.Why not try just cutting out one bad food you are eating for a few days,
then add another and another. If sugar is your problem, cut it out first.
Then the bread, pasta, rice...you get the gist.At this time, it is best to maintain than gain. Losing would be a
bonus...IMHO.Carol Ann

and no alcohol yesterday or today.Good for you, Lori.
I know that you have said in the past that sometimes you feel guilty
for putting any energy into weight loss while your husband is so
desperately ill. Have you ever thought that it might be reassuring
for him to see you taking care of yourself at this time?I ask it because 12 years ago I was helping support a dear friend and
her husband as she died of melanoma. One thing that really preyed on
her mind was seeing her diabetic husband, formerly well controlled,
slip up time after time and eat all the wrong things out of stress.
She was really frightened that once she was gone he would get even
worse and eat himself into a grave out of despair. The small group of
us who were helping them promised that we would keep on supporting him
emotionally after she was gone. Knowing that Don wasn't going to be
alone and abandoned after her death helped her to be calmer and more
relaxed in her last few weeks.I'm sure Curtis doesn't need the extra stress of knowing you're not
taking as good care of yourself as you are of him.Aramanth
