I am purchasing mountain bikes for the first time for both myself and wife. We have determined that all we need is a hard tail not top of the line. Just really looking for exercise and some rec trail riding. I will probably do some more intense riding then her. I am looking at an Haro escape only riden a few times and the seller is looking for $150 for it. Do you think this is a good deal. It was his son's and ridden very little. He just wants to get rid of it. Also, for my wife what would be the best inexpensive bike for rec riding. She is in to brand names that she recognizes but we dont want to spend very much. Could anyone give me some direction here.

Sorry, one other note. I am currently looking at a Schwinn Mesa GS for my wife. It is brand new and going for cheap because it is a closeout model. Are these quality bikes.

dont just swing into action and get a wal-mart bike of any outher depart mint stor bikes one of my frinds who only rides rec broke his first time the rear darlier just poped off! but any way if i was u i wouold look around u realy cnat get a "god" bike with 150 unless it is used for a while 🙂 so shop around and when ever a "good deal" comes your way take time to examin the bike check for rust switching malfuntions or any thing that could be a potential danger to the riding or just any bad looks
