  1. I just got a free set of rollers, made my Tacx, from my local freecycle
    group.

They seem too short, even when I use the largest adjustment. I think I
heard (years ago) that the axle of the front wheel should be slightly
behind the center of the front roller. Without that, there is a danger
that the bike will roll off the front.

Am I right or wrong? If I'm right, then no wonder the owner gave these
rollers away. I have a fairly short wheelbase, and it's too long for
    these rollers.

    Thanks.

With rollers, there's ALWAYS a chance you could roll off the rollers.
Tacx makes good stuff, it's highly unlikely they made this one too
short. The front hub should be pretty much directly over the center of
the front roller and that *might* look a little short to someone new to
rollers. Have someone who already knows how to ride rollers try it out
    with your bike.

  3. Would you measure the rollers so we can discuss this unknown distance?
Measure the distance between each roller, and also measure your bicycle
    wheelbase. Then let us know.

The bike's wheelbase should be about equal to the sum of the longer space
plus half the shorter space, where the longer space is the distance between
the front and middle roller and the shorter space is the distance between
the middle and the rear roller. Since you can adjust the front distance
measure the min and the max values for that distance.

I ride with the front roller directly under the front axle -
just where the frame designer expected the ground to be.

I've sold that roller for 25 years and IMHO it's the best
overall value in a roller set. No BS, no weird 'features'
just a nice solid roller set.
