I have an older Diamondback Expert with RX100 components and shifters on the down-tube. I really like the old beater, and was thinking of upgrades. Does anyone know whether the 8 spd Shimano 105 group components will fit??

RobertYeah, as long as the rear stays are not aluminum of CF with 126 dropout spacing. You are going to need a new rear wheel for an 8 speed casette,and I wouldn't waste my time with 8 speed unless you are getting stuff damm near free, especially if you are talking STI integrated brake/shift levers.

Thanks much, Boudreaux. I rather suspected the 8 spd options seemed limited these days. I will probably opt for the 9 spd, but will as you suggest, verify the dropout spacing etc.
