Where are you located?

If in North America and looking for that price range I would seriously check out Surly, either the Cross-Check or the PAcer.

Good bikes, good frames and the will last you your lifetime.

Also, if in NA check out the On Sale frames on CRamerotti.com website - some beautiful steel frames there for very good prices.

I've raced on two different leader frames, and they're pretty nice. I'd look seriously at buying one of their build kits as well, you can end up with a nice fully built bike cheaper than most any other method. Only problem I've had at all with their build kits is the wheels but I guess you can change those. And they're not bad, seem to be really strong just a little to be desired on stiffness and maybe weight (more for carrying the bike up the stairs than riding).

715 and 780 by the way, ask any questions about them if you'd like.

I got an new Leader 780 from ebay for $25. I'm building it up now. Little concerned that the frame may be a little small for me, but for $25 I think I can wing it. There seem to be a few of these that get purchased and then never built and the person sells them again. Saw a 715 dirt cheap a few days ago.

I bought from an individual. I think they may be out of stock at the moment on some of the models.
