  1. Hi friends,

I wonder how it would be without a world of chocolate.. tried hard to
cut down on the same. Looks like getting rid of a good habit.. So,
probably you guys can help before I become a diabetic.

I've read articles that coacoa has started to become good for health
now.. but what's the limit? Is it really good for health? How many bar
chocolates can I eat everyday without ruining my health? Does it put
on weight? If it doesn't cause harm, scientifically, is it possible to
    live on chocolates alone?

I wonder if I'm stoopid?? But I 'am' serious!!

Anyways, expecting a piece of a paragraph from one of you..

    Ash.

  2. Hi Ash,

I don't think a standard chocolate bar per day is going to hurt one's health
appreciably so long as one stays thin & low body fat. Dark chocolate is
better than milk chocolate; something about the polyphenols binding to the
    milk. Etc.

There is some evidence that cocoa contains some beneficial substances, and
it doesn't raise cholesterol: The main fatty acids are oleic and stearic,
which have little effect or even a beneficial effect. The problem is that
most commercial chocolate is combined with a lot of milk fat or other bad
fats. You have to search and read the labels to find something acceptable.
Some of the mint chocolates are. Or use the straight dark baker's chocolate
to make your own confections (it doesn't taste very good by itself).

    Another chemical there called Catechin
In just a few years, I expect that (the wiser) chocolate manufacturers will
prominently list on their packages how much catechins they have in them.

I love chocolate MORE than you! I'm 50 and just love it. My weight is normal,
my blood pressure is low, my health is very good. But I don't eat just any
chocolate, I can't stand cheap bad tasting candy or pastries. I like those
Russell Stover Mint Dream chocolates, best, right now. Also, I like good
home-made fudge, home made chocolate chip cookies and rich cakes. I also like
Bourbon Balls. It will be years before you taste any good bourbon balls, but,
if you love chocolate, this will be your favorite food.
