  1. Yay! I have now officially lost more than ten percent of my starting
weight - and that in just over two months. This is simply great, and
although I still have long to go, I really, really feel motivated to
    continue.

For those interested in seing why you really shouldn't trust daily
weighings, I have mapped my progress in this graph:
    <http://www.aub.dk/~sh/diverse/pix/weight.gif>

Weight is in kg, and the straight line is a linear interpolation model
based on the last week (I'm a mathematician, and so I couldn't help
    myself...).

It is good to see someone providing such thoughts about daily weighings.

Good luck with the rest of it.

  3. Good work.

I like your graph, but the line doesn't look right to me. My intuition says
it should be higher on the graph. I guess I just lack the math skills.

This could be a wonderful positive spin on it. Let's see, if you weigh 400
and lose 10%, 40lbs, that seems like a drop in the bucket. If you're 200
and you lose 20 lbs, that seems like a hugh improvement. Anything that
    motivates is a good thing.

  5. That is very cool. Both the graph and the fact that you've lost 10%.
Stefan, you should post this link again the next time a newbie is fretting
over the ups and downs of daily weighings!

Well, as it is only based on the weighings for the last week, it is
still sensitive to heavy fluctuations - I could have extended the
period to make something a bit more stable, but that would invalidate
it's use as a marker of current trends (and I could have shortened the
period, but that would make it even more sensitive).

  9. Here's a segment of mine that cover 13+ weeks. It's only actual daily
    weights.

  10. WHAT???? You did this with paper and a PEN??? I'm impressed - and I
really mean that. Things were so much simpler before the electronic
    spreadsheet...

  11. Every morning I put a new dot on a line and connect it to the last one. I
don't have Excel or a similar program, have no need for it but did find a
neat little freebie that you can make your own graph paper with so I created
one with a 7 x 5 grid and printed it out.
