  1. Found a really good ice cream to have as a treat, Made by Breyers, 15 grams
a cup sugar free and really good if you want a treat once in a while.I have
it twice a week , with fruit or jello, takes the bordom out of not having
something special once in a while.
I took one day did nothing but shop and look at the different mark ups on
foods , I know this takes time but when you are looking at low carb foods
it's worth it , then when you shop you don't have to guess or check all the
time if you are in a rush.
Maybe someone has found a better ice cream ---if so please post it ok " it's
    summer time" hugs BettyLou

  2. Keto makes the best ice cream by far. LaBrada Carbwatchers is 2nd.

  3. Silhouette's Skinny Carb Bar chocolate peanut butter are fantastic. Very
rich, very creamy. Super satisfying. I believe they're 3g per bar, and
    they're like big fudge bars.
Too bad no store around here sells them - we found them while traveling
once, got a box (only 4 to a box - we ate 2 right then, and put the other 2
in our hotel freezer for later)

Well, I will note that Breyers has come out with a NEW Carbsmart with
0 net carbs (9 carbs, 3 fiber, 6 sugar alcohol). It's difficult to
get much lower than that. BUT....

    The flavor is missing.

I had been a satisfied consumer of their Chocolate and Strawberry in
the "old" 4 net carb versions. I bought some "new" Neapolitan, which
let me try the strawberry, chocolate and vanilla in the new versions.
I was really surprised by how little flavor they had. I sure hope
they continue the 4 carb versions, because I will not buy any more of
    the 0 carb stuff.

  6. Don't know of a good LC ice cream, but I do know this. DON'T BUY HOMEMADE
BRAND LOW CARB ICE CREAM!!! Sorry for the shouting, but DH bought me a pint
of double chocolate a few weeks back. I had 3 bites of it, not even half a
serving, and I had diarrhea and gas the next day, and my gut rumbled for a
    week after that.

Does anyone know of a brand which uses just Splenda? I can't handle the
sugar alcohols. I might try making my own next time, but don't have my own
    ice cream freezer.

Splenda only? That would be nice. I'm about to have oral surgery
and am pondering what I'm gonna live on thereafter. Some SF
vanilla ice cream might be a useful component, but most of the
    sweeteners seem undesirable to me.

Um, no. Blue Bunny Carb Freedom has sugar alcohols and they warn
about a laxitive effect if you eat too much. From their own website
    on the Double Strawberry Flavor:

    http://www.iscreamteam.com/delightful/cf/dblStrawb.html
    ====================================================================
Ingredients: Milk Fat and Nonfat Milk, Strawberries {Strawberries,
Lactitol, Polydextrose, Water, Maltodextrin, Glycerin, Pectin, Food
Acids (Phosphoric, Citric, Malic, Tartaric), Natural Flavors, Sodium
Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate as Preservatives, Sucralose},
Strawberry Revel (Sorbitol, Strawberries, Maltodextrin, Water, Natural
Flavor, Pectin, Citric Acid, Malic Acid, Red 40, Sucralose, Blue 1,
Potassium Sorbate as Preservative), Water, Sorbitol, Inulin,
Polydextrose, Whey Protein Isolate, Glycerine, Microcrystalline
Cellulose, Cellulose Gum, Natural Strawberry Flavor, Mono &
    Diglycerides, Sucralose.
    Allergen Information: Contains milk.
Excessive consumption may have a laxative effect in sensitive persons.
    =======================================================================

So while it has Splenda (Sucralose), it also contains Lactitol,
Glycerin and Sorbitol. The Chocolate Almond Fudge is the same. The
Mint Chip has the Sorbitol and Glycerine but replaces the Lactitol
with Mannitol. The Vanilla Bean and Butter Pecan don't have the
Lactitol or the Mannitol, but they both still have Sorbitol and
Glycerin and carry the warning about the laxitive effect.

It hasn't bothered me nearly at all - but whenever I eat anything with
maltitol - I get severe stomach problems. So for me - this one is ok.

I learned the hard way with the Atkins chocolate chip mint ice cream. I have
NEVER had a problem with any frankenfoods, until this one. I gave me horrible
gas and a bloaty feeling for hours. I wonder what's different about it as
opposed to the rest of the line?
