After a summer of carb debauchery, i'm back on induction. I had lost almost 65lbs with low carbing over the past two years. Slacked off a lot this summer - ate cake, ice cream (not the LC versions) fried foods, potatoes..and the list goes on. Mind you, it wasn't a carb fest. There were dayes..maybe even a week or two that were strictly low carb.
Nonetheless, I'm back. Didn't gain that much, though. Went from 188 at the beginning of the summer to 192 now. It's a steady 192, so I know its not water. I just have to remember how I did it two years ago. Inductin is easy to forget if you haven't done it in a while.
I'll be lurking, posting, etc. Thanks.

It took you 2 years to lose 65 pounds on Atkins??? I think a lot of you people need a crash course in INDUCTION!
OK so you gained 10 pounds back, in about 2 weeks it will be gone, provided you stay ON induction!
WAKE UP PEOPLE!

Second or third time (etc) weight loss with lowcarb after the first dramatic success tends to be not so dramatic. Your body remembers how to do it even if you don't, and will shift to *efficient* fat burning rather more quickly than the first time. Plan on watching your calories sooner and more strictly and excercising to achieve the results you are looking for. -- revek Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I had to kill because they [censored] me off.

Oh, shut up. Due to several chronic diseases (with a newly discovered one), meds, and other factors, I have lost 51 pounds in a year and a half. Some of us are slower.
Making generalized assumptions about people that you know nothing about is a sign of stupidity.

I think a lot of people would fail if they dtayed on induction as long as you are advising. The limited selections of certain foods would discourage people from staying on the diet or make it easier to binge on carbs. I myself am losing slowly. It didn't go on overnight and I don't expect it to fall off overnight. If I am losing at all - then my new WOE is successful (no matter how long it takes). You aren't showing a lot of support to those trying to lose (and aren't losing up to your standards). This is a SUPPORT group. Please show support. Diane B.

He's a one-note poster who never does anything but taunt people about how slowly they lose and how everyone should stay on induction forever and ever and ever more. Sam Marks is a troll -- I recommend we stop feeding him.

Tried it, dear, seven and a half years ago. Stayed on Induction for 4 months. Didn't lose a single pound after 4 pounds of water dropped off when I went into ketosis. There weren't any low carb products out yet to trip people up, nor was there a wealth of experienced LCers who'd been through it to clue me in that increasing my carbs might work better, and that staying on the limits of Induction might be causing me to eat more calories than if I went to the next phase. I stuck to it because it improved other health problems like allergies and arthritis, and I felt better on it. When I eased my carbs up to 40g/day over a few weeks, I started losing again.

It reminds me strongly of that other poster who used to berate us all for not staying on induction-- was on the diet for some rediculously short period and automagically knew ever so much more than regulars who'd been at it for years. Called us all trolls too. What was that twit's name again?
65 was all i wnted to lose--most of that came off the first few months--i didn't say it took me 2 years to lose it, now did I? There are other easons for doing low carb than losing weight--like maintaining weight? listen (or read) more, talk (or type) less.

Does anyone remember the poster "sseaott" from a few months ago? I am having flashbacks.
Looks like we have a winner. Both post from the Arlington VA pool of Comcast IPs. As he's reintroduced himself as newly LCing, it's a sure bet that he didn't STAY!!! ON!!! INDUCTION!!! or LC at all during his hiatus from posting.

I had a feeling, especially when he started calling everyone "hun," which was exactly what sseaott began to do as soon as he was backed into a corner last time.
