  1. Hi,
I am new to the group, lost 30 pounds on Atkins 3 years ago, Fell off
the wagon, and gained back 40, so I'm back at it again.
I definitely need group feedback instead of trying to go it alone. Any help
    I'm all ears
    Thanks,
    Patty

I'm in a similar situation. I lost about 62 pounds 4 years ago (248 to
186), and slowly crept back up to the 210 range a month ago, when I
finally forced myself to starting weighing myself again. I started a
real attempt to stay low-carb then, and am down to the 198 range. I'd
like to get down to my original goal weight of 175, and actually stay
there. Regular (daily) weighings are the only way I am going to stay
there, I need the constant feedback to see how I am doing.

  3. isn't it funny how when you lose weight you always seem to put on 10 extra
pounds when you gain back to where you were.
I was on body for life and lost only 8 pounds in 6 weeks. I went on vacation
for 2 weeks and when I got back home I had gained those 8 pounds back. Then
    another 10. interesting.
welcome to the group Patty. I am new too. Been on Atkins since January but
just recently found these lovely people.
    good luck on your venture.

I am curious, how come you did not take action before. The reason why
I am curious is that I am maintaining my weight loss, and want to know
    the possible pitfalls.

I wasn't weighing myself, and it was easy to rationalize that I had only
gained 5 or 10 pounds. The mirror and clothes can lie, the scale
doesn't. It's also easy to let carbs creep up in maintenance mode.

My problem has been that I have quit saying "I don't eat that" and have been
trying to do a "moderation" thing. My lowest weight was 144 around
Thanksgiving. Then came Christmas and then DH's diagnosis follwed by the New
Year and a trip to the Dominican. I came back from the trip at 153. and I
have bounced from 153-156 since then. but it has been closer to 155-156 the
    last week or so.
I have decided that I am back to saying "I don't eat that...." a bite here
and a bite there is a sure gaining situatiom for me.

Hi Patty, welcome to the group! Keep reading and posting and you'll get lots of
encouragement, info and inspiration (you'll also get a lot of [censored] from the
resident trolls -- just ignore and/or killfile them).
