Well back again , we are off to the cottage as often as we can this summer.
My concern is why do we have to portion size our vegies ?
The garden is loaded with green beans, cucumbers, tomatoes and well you know
what I mean, so how can cutting back on these make you lose faster?
I have been eating good amounts of vegies and meat very little fruit , maybe
only one a day and am still loseing .
So has anyone else had good luck with enjoying the good stuff like me?

So has anyone else had good luck with enjoying the good stuff like me?I don't generally portion my veggies. For the most part, I eat all the
veggies I want. I would say I easily eat more veggies than any other food.
There are certain ones that when I eat, I eat in smaller quantities (like
corn, and I don't eat any potato).
I find that when I fill up on a yummy variety of veggies, and a 3 to 6 ounce
portion of protein, it makes a perfect meal for me.--

You don't. I mean, unless you're literally eating a ton of them. :-)

glycemic beyond their carb count for many folks who test.Susan

I also eat all the veggies I want with no probs at all.

Are those regular-sized tomatoes, or cherry tomatoes? The reason I ask, not
to be inflammatory, is that we have a ton of tomatoes just starting to ripen
in the garden, and I had thought that I would have to closely
monitor/restrict the amount of tomatoes I eat. And that's the only thing
that's threatening my positive outlook, since I absolutely adore homegrown
tomatoes.--

hugs Betty LouI fill up on veggies at meals and snacks all the time. I’m not diabetic
though so if there are concerns there, disregard anything I say that
might upset your health and listen to the other posters recommendations.Home garden veggies are "generally" low in calories, high in nutrients
and loaded with water so you fill up fast. Water obviously won't keep
you full for long, but it will make you stop and go do something else
other than gorge. Don’t go dipping them in salad dressing, but raw or
with a reasonable amount of yogurt dip should be fine. Gardening counts
as exercise too so pull a few weeds, till the soil a bit and make
several trips to the sink with the your produce.I’ve been bashed by the LC folks before and may receive it again for
this post. Hopefully you’ll get a variety of recommendations and choose
the one that’s best for you.Have fun at the cottage!

what I mean, so how can cutting back on these make you lose faster?I don't think it's an issue unless you're on Atkins Induction, and even then
I'm not sure.On South Beach, you can eat all the high-fiber veggies you want, with very few
limits and no mention of portion size. During Phase One (first two weeks)
there are some restrictions on particular veggies, but in Phase Two it's only
really starchy vegetables like sweet potatoes that go on the "don't eat" or
"eat in limited portions" list.Weight Watchers is similar, btw, which isn't surprising because both low-carb
and low-fat diets recommend lots of vegetables. A high-fiber vegetable in WW
gets zero points, which means you can eat as much as of that vegetable as you
want. Most vegetables only get 1 point per cup. By WW standards, I think the
beans and cukes are zeroes, and the tomatoes are either zeroes or ones.Anyway, I agree with the other posters -- you should eat all the vegetables you
want.Daria

Thanks for the advice, Ig and Concordia!

If you use some dressing with fat in it you will stay full longer.

CCLL?
Critical carbohydrate level for losing; Atkins term. You can read
more about the concept on the website if you're interested. In any
case, I should have typed CCLM (M = maintenance). -

If you do, you've bumped up the calories and may need to watch portions
more closely. Same actually holds true with yogurt now that I take a
second look at my own post. Better to take another walk out there in an
hour and grab another veggie.Quoted message said:
