You use it for an average of 5-10 seconds, so I really don't care about
power. Hey get this..... it makes soups too! Fresh cream of broccoli in
seconds!

I got one recently too. Smoothies are great! But it took a little
experimenting to get what I wanted too. Now I have a freezer full of
blueberry, strawberry, and raspberry 'ice-cubes'.

Haven't tried sorbet yet, but one smoothie came out very thick like a shake.
I use LC milk, like Carb Countdown, rather than orange juice, etc. I may add
a little Blue Bunny LC yogurt. Also tried with protein powder and
late-night with fiber like Metamucil, but the orange flavor overpowers
everything else. I want to try another recipe someone posted in a smoothie
thread. he used 1/4 cup flax meal. I figure I can grind the seeds with the
flat blade, then make the smoothie in the same cup!

I've made several salsas, for the best I used the large cup, and added the
zest and juice of a baby-lime.

I've tried a couple of cheeses for 'nachos'; cheddar and Colby jack. As the
mechanism heats up the cheese starts to melt around the blade. This bogs it
down AND leaves some chunks un-shredded. again, I'm experimenting. (I
think the infomercial is using Velveeta and it may be partially frozen. Just
my opinion.) But even with micro-waved oily cheese chunks, it still cleans
up pretty easy. (I'm the 'dishwasher' here.)

p.s. I did try the juicer - watermelon and pineapple. Tasty - I didn't get
to add any of the other stuff though.

Probably not yet. It seems pretty new. I've seen it in recent
infomercials. It seems awfully expensive for a high speed
mini-blender.

I've been curious as to whether it performs as advertised. I read
that the super-looking wand blenders that were sold in infomercials
before wand blenders became common, were run at much higher speed than
they really ran -- burning them out and using several in the "program".
In some of the foods demoed in the Magic Bullet infomercial, you can
see good-sized chunks of non-blended ingredients, such as the guacamole.

Most of what it does can be done in a ($15-$20) blender in a couple
of minutes instead of a few seconds, but isn't as easily to get out
of the blender if you're making a small amount. My blender came
with something like an 8-ounce plastic jar to screw on (meant for
baby food) instead of the regular blender container, but I lost it
in a move years ago.

It cost me $99 on one of the home shopping channels. If there's any prob,
I can send it back or get it replaced easily. Mine came with dozens of cups,
mugs, lids and attachments I haven't even explored yet. For me anything
that is easy to use and clean, will get used, and is worth the premium I
pay. Sure I can cut, and grind up whatever I want for free, but in reality
I'm too lazy to do it, and then won't do anything at all. What do you pay
for a store-bought LC smoothie, even if you are able to find one? How can
you beat fresh flavored Splenda whipped cream everyday? Strawberry or
Blueberry LC shake, made almost instantly. Cream of spinach or asparagus
soup. This baby will pay for itself in no time.

I can't use up fresh fruit that fast. :-) So it's pureed with a little
Splenda, frozen in smaller cubes that will crush/blend easily. Then vacuum
packed with a Foodsaver. The fruit is good for other uses too.

$99 through the infomercial w/Blender/Juicer.

I did look at other products and reviews. I think Hamilton Beach makes a
blender that has travel-mug attachments, reviews claimed it leaks.

Another one is the Tribest 200 - even saw rhis one at a William Sanoma
store. It's lower powered than the Magic Bullet, no full-size blender, but
some of the options include a 24-ounce tall cup, and a travel-mug lid.
(Search for this on Amazon.) (I thought about getting the lid (<$3), to see
if it fits the MB)... :-)

And it's slightly maddening that the Magic Bullet cups are just a fraction
of an inch smaller than a standard wide-mouth jar. :-)
