If you circuit you need a good off dyke section to the walk.. Try
something involving Clun.. Good caff there and a good section of the
Dyke 3 miles to the west. Walk a bit of the dyke from Newcastle, down
into Clun and then back to the Dyke. Wide variety of farmland,
hedgerow and upland birds around. Buzzards a certainty.

Crumbs. It's all good. How about Hergest Ridge ? A walk around the
Clwyddians ? Pick a random number between 1 and 169 and that will
be your starting point in miles north of Chepstow. I bet you it will be a
great walk.

They'd finally took the scaffolding off the front of Tintern Abbey last time
I went by which is an improvement. Does kind of ruin the joke that it's
being turned into flats though.

The scaffolding was up at the abbey on our week long (not long enough) visit
to St Briavels last month so had to do a bit of digital work on photos back
home. We thoroughly enjoyed two walks one on each side of the valley around
Tintern Abby, bet the autumn colours are great about now.

If you want Real Autumn Colours (tm) try upstate New York, or SE Canada.
Be warned that it's spoil you for the UK autumns forever though. 8>.
